The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is the only destination in the southeastern US dedicated exclusively to the living culture of Japan. The Morikami encompasses a 16-acre park of renowned gardens and galleries that house exhibits showcasing historical and contemporary Asian art.
Visitors come to walk the almost mile-long path through six Japanese garden styles, sample cuisine at The Cornell Café, shop The Museum Store and enjoy signature festivals: January’s Oshogatsu rings in the New Year; in February, Hatsume Fair features Japanese music, and April’s Children’s Day celebrates all things young. In August, Bon welcomes back spirits who have departed.
