Good friends and owners of a similar furniture store in Ottawa, Canada were the inspiration for Hacienda Rustica.
Mike and Julie were utterly captivated by the beauty and extraordinary workmanship of the furnishings sold in this store. They designed and built their dream home “hacienda” in Canada, decorating and furnishing it completely with these exotic treasures of South America.
Realizing only part of their dream was not enough, in 2005 they decided to pack up their family of three young children and relocate to West Palm Beach, Florida from Ottawa, Canada.
Mike is a master cabinetmaker and has been operating his own, very successful millwork shop in Canada for over 15 years. With all of his experience working with wood and a flare for design, he is able to offer custom built pieces to accent those found at Hacienda Rustica.
Julie has had many years of experience working in sales and retail, before deciding to stay home and raise a family. With their youngest child attending elementary school, it was a perfect time to start a new adventure.
The combination of their passions, skills and vast experience will ensure a great success in sharing with others the wonderful appreciation for these treasures and riches from all over South America.
