I've tried introductory lessons (3 lessons) with three different studios. Each always ended in a major sales pitch which was obviously more important than teaching me to dance. The I took the introductory trio at Paramount Ballroom in Palm Beach. Paramount Ballroom is the first studio where I was made to feel enpowered to actually learn how to dance. Previous instructors did not understand that patience and empathy is key when beginning with a new student. New students feel like a "fish out of water" and negative comments by an instructor have caused me to discontinue the lessons. After ONE lesson at Paramont, I signed up for 6 months of lessons. My instructor Michael made me feel like I could learn anything! It was all in my hands! Best of all, NO sales Pitch! It was my decision without pushing me.
