Formed in early 2004, 5th Gear set out to play rock music that they grew up on, blending classic rock aesthetics with a modern rock mentality to create a sound that is edgy yet melodic and soulful. Playing mostly original gigs in the beginning, they performed at local hot spots throughout central and southern Florida. Their live set consists of the full throttle sound you expect from a band named 5th Gear but are also capable of slowing it down with a few rootsy acoustic numbers that are in a Zepplin-ish type of vein.
